Performance

The 2016 Toyota Camry is available with two distinct engines, both of which deliver an appealing balance of power and efficiency. Standard on lower-level trims is a 2.5L four-cylinder engine that puts out 178 hp and 170 lb-ft of torque and can carry the Camry from 0 to 60 mph in a brisk 8.3 seconds. The XSE and XLE trims come with a 3.5L V6 engine that puts out 268 hp and 248 lb-ft of torque and improves 0-60 mph times to 6.2 seconds. Both engines are paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.

The four-cylinder engine is rated at an EPA-estimated 25 mpg city and 35 mpg highway, while the V6 ratings dip just slightly to an EPA-estimated  21 mpg city and 31 mpg highway.
